Octagonal diffractors popularly known as octagons are acoustic elements mounted on the top edge of an acoustic screen to absorb the deflected sound wave. The diffractor allows, in some situations, to lower the designed height of the screen, or to increase the effectiveness of the acoustic screen without changing its height.

- The octagon is constructed of profiled aluminum sheet riveted to extruded aluminum profiles. Reducers are attached directly to the columns of the supporting structure with special clamps.
